Rio's Filius as a foal
Rio's Filius combines the proven performance bloodlines of Raphael and Sandro, two stallions that are well known for producing both top show jumpers and dressage horses. Raphael has produces such world class horses as "Radiator" - winner of the Spruce Meadows Masters or Eric Lamaze's international horses Raphael, Rosina and Rio Grande.
The Holstein stallions Sandro has produced over 40 licensed stallions in Europe, his best known son is World Cup Champion "Sandro Boy" who has won numeorus Grand Prix competitions under Marcus Ehning. Sandro is the grand sire of Shutterfly, currently the number one jumping horses in the world and "Satchmo", Dressage Gold medal winner at the Hong Kong Olympics under Isabel Werth. Sandro is also the grand sire of "Sandro Hit" one of the most successful sires of dressage horses in Europe.
Rio's Filius is unable to compete due to an injury.
Rio's Filius' full brother "Eye Remember Rio" has been one of the best amateur hunters in the United States for the past several years under his legally blind rider.
Since Rio Grande's death we have bred all of our mares that we would normally have bred to Rio Grande to Rio's Filius. In 2008, we have sold two weanlings by Rio's Filius to one of Canada's most prominent show jumping stables.

Rio Grande offers the complete package to any mare owner. Rio excelled in the competition ring, first as a dressage horse (Basic Dressage Champion at prestigious Tournament of Champions as a four year old), then in the Hunter ring and finally as an International Show Jumper.
He won several International Show Jumper classes and he was victorious in Nations Cups as part of "Team Canada" on more than one occasion.
Rio Grande is a proven producer of performance horses. His daughter Rio's Rhapsody has won several Grand Prixs under Erynn Ballard. Catwalk was the winner of two World Cup Qualifiers in Canada in 2007.
Rio Grande is best known for producing some of the best hunters currently competing in North America such as 2002 AHSA Horse of the Year Rio Bronco or Rio Renoir - Champion at the $ 60,000 National Horse show. Rio produced numerous WEF Champions such as Eye Remember Rio, Due North, Rio's Echo and Rio Bravo.
Rio Grande has been in the top 5 of the USEF Hunter Sire ranking for several years now.
